It is only 26 days as of this post until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out. I can hardly contain my excitement. Here is my checklist leading up to the release:
1. Read the previous books. I just started rereading my books, and I have already made it through Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets in one week. I am into Prisoner of Azkaban as we speak (or technically, as I type and you read). That still gives me over three weeks to finish the last three leading up to book seven, which is plenty of time for me.
2. Buy the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix video game. It comes out June 26th.
3. Go on premiere day to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix the movie on Wednesday, July 11. I am convinced that I will be seeing it opening day, even though others in my household are not convinced about standing in line with me or are intent on thinking that it might be sold out. Positive thinking, people. Positive thinking.
4. And of course, make a Harry Potter House Blanket to snuggle with while I read my Harry Potter books. I am making a blanket that is made up of crochet and knit squares in the four house colors. I decided to use both knit and crochet to show house unity. Go me! I have one crocheted square done, and I am working on a knit square. It’s going to be awesome, that’s all I can say. I don’t have pics, but will post as soon as I do.
As you might be wondering from the post title, I was just asking myself: will Harry and the gang be getting new house scarves in the new movie? I mean, they had the first scarves with the even-numbered blocks of color in Movies 1 and 2. Then in Movie 3, we saw the much-older-and-sophisticated-looking scarf with thin stripes mixed with thick stripes. We have seen Scarf 1 in two movies and Scarf 2 in two movies, so isn’t it time for a new scarf?
My vote is illusion scarves where the House mascot is knitted into the scarf using illusion knitting, so you can only see it at the right angle. That would be so cool! Harry Potter fighting Voldy, who thinks Harry is a wimp wearing a plain scarf. But then, Voldy looks down and sees none other than the Gryffindor Lion roaring up at him from the scarf and dies of jealousy cause Harry has an awesomely knitted scarf. That would make for a great battle scene.
Then again, maybe only a knitter would find this battle scene totally awesome.
