The first free pattern I ever posted on my blog was the Straight Granny. Having crocheted for numerous years, I had come up with my own formula for the traditional square granny, but sometimes the square shape seemed awkward for a blanket. So I came up with a recipe to make a straight granny square.
Using this again after so long, I decided to revamp the pattern and offer it in PDF format for free. It’s now sized for a baby blanket, with instructions for sizing to any desirable width and length. I have included a list of materials with some Amazon affiliate links to my favorite products to use. Click on this link here to find the updated post with the free pattern.
- Boye Size I ergonomic crochet hook (get a full set of Boye Ergonomic crochet hooks here)
- Worsted weight yarn. My suggestions for fun self-striping versions include Lion Brand Mandala Baby here, Caron Cakes here, and Bernat Pop here.
- Chibi Clover Yarn Needle
